Adidas gave me a defective piece and also troubled me

During this vacation I planned to visit my cousins who reside in Africa ,as I was going for the first time I decided to buy gifts for them ,they always liked my collection of adidas wear so I thought this would be the best ,I went to adidas shop and chose 3 T-shirts for my cousin and asked to do the billing ,when the billing was done my eyes just got stuck to one of the T-shirts in the display I decided at once to buy it but the size was small ,I was disappointed and asked for a bigger size they doubted whether they had but told me to wait while they checked in the basement I waited for a while and my good luck the size was available as it was a new piece it was wrapped in the transparent plastic bag from which the size was visible ,I wanted to open the Tshirt but he refused as it was the same one if I did not purchase they would have to keep it back ,so I just took and on the very day without giving a second look while packing I flew to Africa ,it was a great feeling to be with them ,I gifted the Tshirt to them but one of my cousin liked mine as we wear the same size I told him to take ,it was a great gathering at night and we decided to wear these T-shirts but ,when the Tshirt was removed and opened it had a hole in it near the chest area and I felt very embarrsed as I had gifted them ,I decided to get it back ,after the visit was over I visited the adidas shop showing the Tshirt ,thinking that it would be replaced ,but instead the clerk in the shop said that all was in front of you now how can it be a defected piece from the shop itself I reminded him that he was the one who did not let me open the Tshirt but he behaved as if he doesn�t remember .It was just a week ,why do companies send a defected piece which turns heavy to our pocket ,now whenever I buy I see to it whether any defect is there or no ,no matter the time is wasted ,but wasting time to recheck for a brand like Adidas a big question ,I was left without a change or a refund.
