Ripped off by Freedom Sales, last weeknight a friendly young guy came to my door represented himself as a young college student, blah, blah, blah. He said he was involved in some type of senior contest, I believe, if he sold so many more magazine subscriptions. He said he was 23, and he talked a lot. He said that if I purchased a magazine from him I would be helping him to add up points for college or for personal reasons I am a sucker for helping out college kids, so I agreed to buy I gave him a check for $20. After he left, however, something kept nagging at me -- something wasn't right. Maybe because he kept pushing so hard for cash instead of a check -- I don't know. So I researched his company Freedom sales online and found many, many complaints against them about individuals selling magazine subscriptions. Suspiciously, just like the kid who came to my door. Friendly, fast-talking, I cancelled the check right away WARNING: Beware kids with magazine sales -- unless it's your coworker's kid doing a magazine drive for college, don't bite.
They may bite back.
