Our experience with Antelope Valley Ghost Hunters... NOT a good one!!!

On July 5th we had a group called Antelope Valley Ghost Hunters come out to our house and do an investigation. (To some of you, this may sound stupid and weird and that is fine because everyone is entitled to their own opinions.) We did this because we were having A LOT of strange things happening here. Televisions were turning off by themselves. Lights kept turning off and on. I would hear thumps on the inner walls of the house when I was at home alone. One time my sister Heather and her kids were at the house and they heard what sounded to them like a man sighing in frustration after they kept saying outloud that they didn't believe in ghosts or anything like that. So, Todd and I just thought it would be interesting to have this group out to investigate. The Group Leader Teresa contacted me back and said her investigation would be similar to the ones they do on the television show "Ghost Hunters" on the Sci-Fi cable channel. It was free and we thought it would be fun to actually see for ourselves how they did all of these investigations first hand and also maybe get some proof of "something" here.

I got a call from Teresa a couple of weeks after the investigation saying that she had A LOT of evidence both on video and audio that she wanted to show us. So, Todd and I waited for her to call us back and give us a date that she would be here to reveal everything to us. After waiting a week or so, I contacted her again last week and asked her if she knew when she would be coming out. She said that they are in the process of trying to get a tv show going and she would let me know as soon as her schedule permitted her to come out. We were fine with that.

Last Saturday, I get on Myspace and I see a blog that Antelope Valley Ghost Hunters posted on their website. I read it and it said that they had two team members who resigned from the group. This concerned me because I thought there would be a "problem" now with getting our evidence. I emailed Teresa and asked her again when she would be coming out to do our reveal of evidence. She said that she still wasn't sure because she was working on the show and didn't have time to come here to our house yet and she would let us know when she was coming. I personally felt that Teresa was "putting us off" so, I then contacted Michael and Susan, the members who left the group. I won't get into the details as to why they left the group or what either side has said about the departure. That is not my story to tell because I wasn't there and I wasn't involved with that. So please don't ask me to comment on that. What I will say is this...

After contacting Michael and Susan, I felt a little more at ease because RIGHT AWAY AND WITH ABSOLUTELY NO HESITATION, they agreed to email me ALL the evidence they had obtained from our investigation. True to "THEIR" word, they have emailed me several EVP's over the past couple of days.

All of the sudden, yesterday I get this email from Teresa on Myspace. She proceeds to tell me the only evidence she had was Michael and Susan's EVP evidence and since they already sent it to me then she has NOTHING to give me! Remembering our telephone conversation a few weeks ago about video she claimed to have already, I emailed her immediately and told her I wanted ALL the copies of the audio and video so that Todd and I could go over them ourselves. How did she respond you ask??? By deleting me from her Myspace and NOT responding to my email. I viewed this as an attempt to cut off contact with me. I immediately contacted Michael and Susan once again. Michael responded back to me promptly and informed me that there was IN FACT a video from our investigation that he saw with his own eyes that night. The night of the invesitgation, I also saw Teresa standing in my driveway showing the Director of the pending tv show a video clip on her hand held video camera and heard her saying that she had just been in MY house and recorded some "strange lights" that she couldn't explain. I was also at the command post that night watching the live feeds with another person from the tv show and we both saw "something" on one of the screens that neither one of us could explain. A member of AVGH named Shyanne was a witness to this event as she was also viewing the live feeds with us. So, what happen to these tapes??? We don't know. As of this morning, Teresa has NOT responded to my email or an email sent to her last night by Michael asking her why she is "lying" to Todd and I about our evidence.

The next thing I would like to make known is this... the night of the investigation I specifically told Teresa that I did NOT want any of my evidence released to the tv show. I told her that the ONLY thing I would agree to let her do with our evidence as far as making it public was to post it on their website with just our City name and our first names. Teresa and Jeanette the Co-Founder of Antelope Valley Ghost Hunters BOTH agreed to these terms verbally and had me sign two papers. One document was a confidentiality agreement and the other was a liability agreement stating that neither party would be held responsible if there was anyone who got hurt at my home that night. I have YET to recieve a copy of this paperwork that Teresa and Jeanette both promised to give me weeks ago. A couple of days ago I contacted her once again via email and told her yet again that I did NOT want her to release any of our tapes to the television show they were in the process of trying to create. She wrote me back and stated that the Director from the show who was at the investigation that night, DID in fact take some pictures inside our house. She also went on to say that she would contact him and tell him that we requested NOT to have any of our evidence released. I do not know for sure if she did in fact contact the Director and inform him of our wishes and I do not know for a fact if she turned over any of our evidence to the television show.

In my opinion, I think what Teresa from Antelope Valley Ghost Hunters has done is HIGHLY unethical and unprofessional. At the very least she lied to us either in the beginning when she told us that she DID have video to show us OR she lied yesterday in her email by saying that there was only the EVP's that Michael and Susan released to us. It also caused me a great deal of concern when it was towards the end of the night on our investigation and I heard Teresa saying that she would "do anything and give the Director anything he wanted to make this show happen." By that time, I could not do anything even though I felt "uneasy" with her because they were already wrapping things up with our investigation and preparing to leave. In any case, Teresa has caused us a tremendous amount of frustration and sadness due to her actions and statements. I would STRONGLY urge anyone who is thinking of working with her to think long and hard about it before doing it. I can NOT say that she would do this to anyone else BUT I can tell you that everything I have written in this Blog is true to the best of my knowledge, memory and personal experience with Teresa. I am also seriously considering writing to the Executives of the Cable Network and informing THEM of the personal experience we have had with Teresa at AVGH.

In closing, Todd and I would like to thank Michael and Susan for turning over their evidence and helping us out in this situation. They have been VERY honest with us and kept to their word in EVERY aspect since I have been dealing with them on these issues. They BOTH have a VERY professional work ethic, sensativity to our feelings and Michael and Susan have gone above and beyond anything that I could have possibly hoped for in order to get us our evidence and help us out in any way they can. There are two positive things that came out of this experience. One, Todd and I now have the EVP's that Michael and Susan provided us with and proved to us in our own minds that there is in fact "something" here in our house. What it is we can't say for sure. The second thing that came out of this is that we met Michael and Susan who turned out to be very genuine, honest, and caring people to us. We are happy that we had the pleasure of working with them and MOST importantly making friends with them. Their friendship along with the evidence they provided to us is PRICELESS and we are VERY grateful to THEM for that.
