I recently was contacted a marketing person from Midwest Resorts. I was informed by attending a 90 minute presentation I would receive a $25 gift card and four round trip tickets to any of 26 destinations. I specifically asked if I would be required to stay at any specific hotels and she emphatically stated no. I told her the reason I wanted to be very specific about this was we already own a Time Share and also have relatives in three different states, where we would be able to stay. She said there were no strings attached to the airline tickets. After the two plus hour presentation, when I went to receive my gifts, I asked the woman at desk if we had to stay at specific hotels and she said yes and they were listed in brochure. Some of the destinations we would have to stay up to 14 nights at $250 a night. There were two other women waiting to receive their free gifts and they stated they were given the same information. They flatly refused to make any allowances and then offered us two airline tickets for two night stay at specific hotels where hotel cost was covered. I said I thought we should get four, as they were practicing false advertising. They would not budge and they would not give any of us women the $25 gift card. Needless to say, I would never recommend one of these promotions to anyone, nor would I recommend Midwest Resorts to anyone. I just wish there was more I could do about this than complain, but if it saves anyone else the time we wasted, then this e-mail will mean something.
