When I first signed up for the Vonage account everything went very well and in no time I was up and running with little or no problems. The Problem started when I added another account at my second home. I have nothing but problems since. Internet service was not available at my second home except through Satellite. I had Hughes put in a satellite dish and Vonage set up the VOIP account. Well VOIP does not work on satellite because of lag time. I found this out after trying to set up for 2 weeks. I then had to cancel Hughes (which cost me $400.00) and I tried to cancel Vonage until an internet company could service the area. Vonage told me that not to worry that my account would be in suspense until the service became available. After six months went by I noticed that I was still being charged for the account. I did not notice because of my other Vonage account. I contacted Vonage and was told that my account could not be put in suspense and I would have to pay $5.00/month for a basic 0 plan even though I could not use my phone???? Or I would have to pay to disconnect and pay again to reconnect when service was put in my area. I would then only have to reactivate the residential plan at no charge. Well I finally got the internet service and I reactivated the residential plan. Vonage then charged me to reactivate the plan. I have paid Vonage for the VOIP service for almost a year even though I could not use it. I have now paid to activate the residential plan twice even though I could now only begin to use it. I have spent many hours on the phone with Vonage and have only become more frustrated. I will find another service and I will cancel both services I have now. PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR and DO NOT use Vonage. Liol Edison NJ,United States
